Are you an experienced accounting professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for financial accuracy, process improvement and team development? We're seeking a motivated and capable Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Parkside on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, this is a broad and hands-on role, playing a critical part in maintaining financial integrity across multiple entities through oversight of accounts payable operations, general ledger reconciliations, intercompany accounting and month-end reporting. You will provide leadership and support to a small team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations, working collaboratively across the business to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role will suit someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Finance function.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant invoice processing while supporting and developing a small team.
- Manage month-end activities including balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger integrity, reporting and intercompany accounting across multiple entities.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolving queries and ensuring effective financial controls are in place.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, optimise systems and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support compliance, external accountants and governance requirements by maintaining accurate financial records, strong internal controls and adherence to company policies and taxation obligations.
- Provide hands-on accounting support and technical guidance across the finance function, contributing to broader team objectives and business outcomes.
- Provide leadership and support to the Receptionist, overseeing the Reception function and ensuring seamless coverage during leave and other absences.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting ideally within a complex or multi-entity environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring team members.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, general ledger reconciliations and month-end reporting requirements.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations is highly regarded.
- Experience using specialised ERP systems and automated accounts payable platforms, with QAD and Esker highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance operational and strategic responsibilities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business.
- Qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline.
